Heading into Summer!

The Summer Solstice is upon us. While we make the most of this gorgeous weather and endless daylight, we’re also gearing up for a full season of summer events and preparing for the winter ahead.

If you’re a planner, here are the dates to keep in mind. If the thought of September is absurd to you, then just join us for the Volunteer Party tomorrow and we’ll take the rest one Nordic News at a time.

Volunteer Party - Tomorrow!

Bring a lawn chair!

We want to say thank you! Thank you for showing up in the sun or the snow. Thank you for filling water bottles, checking bibs, directing traffic, greeting at the Nordic Center, and everything else.

Above all, thank you for sharing our love of winter and adventure.

Please join us tomorrow, Thursday, June 19th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party. We’ll gather at the Nordic Center for food, drinks, and raffle prizes.

We are so grateful.

Grin & Bear It

Run, Bike, or Volunteer!

Join us on Saturday, July 12th for the 42nd Annual Grin & Bear It.

This year, we’re offering both trail running and mountain biking events. Choose from the traditional 15km run out-and-back to Green Lake. Or, go for the 25km loop and choose sneakers or tires.

Not racing this year?
We’re looking for volunteers in the following roles:

• Green Lake Aid Station 

• Checkpoint Locations on Course

• Brunch Service

• Start Line Set-Up

Storage Wax!

CB Nordic Team Fundraiser

Support competitive youth skiing in the Gunnison Valley!

What: Bring us your skis, and the CBN Team will clean and storage wax them for the summer to make sure that your bases stay protected and speedy for next season!

• $15 for skate skis or non-waxable classic skis (skin skis/fischscales) - includes base cleaning and storage wax application

• $20 for waxable classic skis - includes kick wax cleaning, base cleaning, and storage wax application 

Where: Drop off and pick up skis at The Outpost - 615 2nd Street.

When: Tuesday - Friday between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. before Tuesday, June 24th. We’ll have them back to you no later than Friday, June 27th. 

How: Pay via Venmo (@cbnordic) or cash when you drop off your skis.

All proceeds help CBNT athletes cover team dues, travel, and equipment costs. 

Adult Dryland Training

September 3rd - October 29th

They say good skiers are made in the summer. We’re excited to offer an adult nordic-specific dryland program this fall. Mark your calendars for Wednesdays from September 3rd through October 29th.

We’ll focus on aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, strength training, and balance work. Attending each Wednesday session is encouraged.

Registration opens on August 6th.

In the meantime, we hope that you’re busy hiking, biking, and enjoying these beautiful trails. If you’re looking for strength and conditioning classes now, check out summer offerings at CORE and purchase a CORE Nordic 10-Punch Pass. CORE will give 10% back to the Nordic Center when you purchase a Nordic 10-Punch Pass.

Yurt Dinners

On Sale August 1st!

The 2025-2026 Magic Meadows Yurt Dinner dates are available on the website now. Look at the calendar, call the family, and be ready when registration opens on August 1st. Holiday dates sell out especially fast.

Of course, Yurt Trivia and Bistro will be back. And stay tuned for some other Local’s Night options coming your way this season.

Season Passes

On Sale September 1st!

Winter is always right around the corner. Season passes for the 2025-2026 season will go on sale on Monday, September 1st.

A CB Nordic season pass includes unlimited access to all 55 km of trails all winter long, plus free youth passes for children in your household, five free ski/snowshoe rentals, and discounts on lessons, tours, and Magic Meadows Yurt Dinners.

Be sure to purchase yours before prices go up on November 1st.
